Many organizations provide free and credible resources to help you plan workplace wellness activities. We have highlighted some of them here to help you develop and deliver a cost-effective program for your employees.

Themes and Ideas

Run a campaign that focuses on all aspects of nutrition. Eat Right presented by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics provides key messages, event ideas, promotional materials and more. In 2019, National Nutrition Month will be honored as its own theme.

Some of the free resources available include backdrops for photos/selfies where staff can add their photo to a collection of those who "Stand Up for Someone's Rights Today". There are also videos and social media strategies you can use. You could also encourage your staff to take the pledge at the bottom of these webpages which includes:

  • I will respect your rights regardless of who you are. I will uphold your rights even when I disagree with you.
  • When anyone's human rights are denied, everyone's rights are undermined, so I will STAND UP.
  • I will raise my voice. I will take action. I will use my rights to stand up for your rights.

Sleep deprivation can affect both our physical and mental health. Share this Primer on Sleep to help employees acquire effective sleeping habits.

It can be easy to automatically and incorrectly make assumptions. This activity teaches staff to take their time in approaching other co-workers objectively.

Research shows that healthy snacking can help boost a person’s energy, concentration, mood and focus. Encourage people to bring healthy snacks in for health.
